If your gerbil’s teeth are allowed to grow too long, it can result in many problems including weight loss due to lack of appetite. Luckily, you don’t need a vet’s help to keep your gerbil’s teeth in great shape.
You can line a cage with more or less bedding, e.g., 8 inches or 5 inches. The enclosure may be bigger and require more to cover the surface. Like shops, some breeders take better care of their animals than others.

Once these things are set up, you have to think about the ongoing costs. The two main recurring costs are bedding and food.
